The GOAL of Quest Snakes:

To cater to the audience of reptile owners/lovers who are severely underserved in a world of dog/cat games.
Present cute snake characters to counter the negative stigma on snakes and build up a fan base of all ages to appreciate the important animal! Hopefully this helps folks reconsider the sterotype that snakes are 'evil'
Make people LAUGH. The art is whimsical, sometimes awesome, but mostly fun! These snakes will put a smile on your face! They havent' mastered magic yet, and it shows!
Be a 'Gateway Game'. This is a family friendly game for ages 10 + where lovers of more complex games like DnD or Magic, can start introducing a simpler version of this to their family/friends.

Quest Snakes is a party card game featuring silly snakes that go on fantasy rpg-like Quests. This game was a passion project that broke expectations by becoming a successful kickstarter (funded in 6 minutes) and by building a loyal fanbase. All art was done by me down to even the marketing ads. Every ounce of this project was done with love.

Quest Snakes memes go viral, so we make merch for our most popular memes and art! Slippy the blue snake quickly became the most beloved and was announced our game's Mascot and now is featured in a majority of the merch!

CARD DESIGNS

In this game there are two main card types: Quests and Snakes. Quests (purple Q cards) are the adventures you compete on and Snake cards (green S cards) are the snakes you recruit for the Quests.

QUEST CARDS

What does a high fantasy/DnD snake world look like? For Quests in the card game, I tried to recreate the well known themes for fantasy lovers, with a snake twist to them. It's like being in a campaing of DnD but a bit more scaley! Even in a dangerous world, the art is fun and light hearted with lots of refrences and jokes to make you laugh.

Who is the antagonist in Quest Snakes? Even though you compete against your friends in this game, the reoccuring enemy to the Quest Snakes are natural predators, like birds, and fantasy tropes!

Quests have 2 important icons: party size and point value.

In the world of Scaledonia (the fictional world Quest Snakes takes place) golden mice are their version of gold bars, but cuter! Afterall there is nothing a snake values more than a good meal.

The snake icon is how many 'snakes' you can play from your team. Iconagraphy needy to be SIMPLE and CLEAR for all ages.

When desinging cards I wanted them to feel unique from other card games and be more 'art' heavy. Each card should feel like a wanted sign or recruitment poster in a tavern. The base card is paper textured/colored with torn ripped edges and a nail at the top. In this game these are the snakes you are recruiting onto your team.

Despite the fantasy themes, real species of snakes are represented and reflected in a thoughtful manner.

SNAKE CARDS

There are 3 classes in the base game! Rogues, Wizards, and Warriors! Basic cards all feature a similar pose, where as Ability snakes, have unique poses that stand out. This is so it makes the ability snakes very identifiable at first glance

New classes are introduced often. Classic fantasy rpg classes are common (necromancer, druid ect) but so are silly new classes such as Bread and Cheese snakes.

We love art, but card info is the most important part of the card! For this game there are 2 important stats and a class. I put them on the far left so when a player holds mutiple cards, they can easily see everything they need to know for their whole hand.

All ages play this game, so we wanted redability to be overly clear. The icons are color coded, but having the class backgrounds match their class helps players see the class more easily during the drafting phase!

The Deluxe Book Box

Royal card sleeves to protect and upgrade the style.

Making this exclusidve kickstarter bundle feel special required a more regal/royal version of the game's title with gold iconography. Even the letters are snakes! The book box was a MUST, metal gold coins that feature their snake king, and the bags match with their matching color play mat. When you get a book box, you are opening up a story of adventure, friendship, and snakes!
